What does spring riding look like? It's different for each part of the country but one thing is consistent, it's a great time to shake things out, enjoy the warmer weather, and celebrate the anticipation of summer. Here are some of our top tips to get you rolling into spring!

Be safe

Warmer temperatures mean that more people are out and about, and we should all look out for each other. Be visible with front and rear lights and bright clothing. Follow the rules of the road, alert others when you are passing, and signal when you are turning.

Take advantage of that basket or backpack

The farmer's market is open, the chairs are out on the patio at the local pub, and it's time to stock up for a backyard barbeque. A bike equipped with a basket means that you don't have to fret about where you are going to put your goods from your errands. Take a backpack and you've doubled your capacity for treasures you find.

Fenders, fenders, fenders!

Spring weather can be unpredictable and being prepared can help you enjoy your ride. Fenders will protect you from the spray off the road after a surprise spring shower. Taking a bike share bike? You are covered! Our bikes are equipped with fenders on the front and rear.

Layering is where it's at

Along with the unpredictable showers, spring brings along what we like to call the '10 Degree Swing'. One minute you are soaking up the sun and celebrating wearing a short sleeve shirt, and the next there is cloud cover and that short sleeve shirt is feeling like a poor choice. Take a light jacket to ensure that you stay comfortable while you are out and about. Wearing layers while on a ride means you can peel off or add a layer depending on the conditions.
